“Invalid character ” error in Internet Explorer -> Script ie error

If you encounter this problem when you are using Internet Explorer 7, follow these steps:
Click Start, click Run, type Regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
Locate the following registry key, and then click the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BLOCK_LMZ_SCRIPT
On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
In the DWORD Value box, type iexplore.exe, and then press ENTER.
Double-click the iexplore.exe registry entry that you created in step 4.
In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK.
Exit Registry Editor.

Proxy from regedit

Start->run->type regedit->HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\InternetSettings\ delete the key with proxy that is at disable level.

Restart a test windows server

1: SHUTDOWN /r /f /t 0 /m \\ /c “”
/r Shutdown and restart the computer.

/f Force running applications to close without forewarning users.

/t xxx Set the time-out period before shutdown to xxx seconds.
The valid range is 0-600, with a default of 30.

/m \\computer Specify the target computer.

/c “comment” Comment on the reason for the restart or shutdown.

Visio uninstall insufficient it remains traces in registry

Delete the folder where Visio was previously installed, for example
C:\Program Files\Visio
Delete the shared Visio folder:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Visio Shared

DELETE SNAGIT FROM REGISTRY KEYS:

Navigate in the left-hand pane to the “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TechSmith ” entry. Right-click the “TechSmith” folder in the right-hand pane and select “Delete.”
Navigate in the left-hand pane to the “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\TechSmith” entry. Right-click the “TechSmith” folder in the right-hand pane and select “Delete.”

Close the Registry Editor and restart your computer. This should remove all traces of SnagIt from your computer.
